AKTIVITAS KARDIOTONIK PADA 15 TANAMAN
Abstrak
Obat kardiotonik seperti glikosida jantung merupakan obat yang dapat meningkatkan kekuatan kontraksi otot jantung dan digunakan untuk mengobati gagal jantung kongestif. Pada review artikel ini dibahas 15 tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas kardiotonik. Tanaman tersebut adalah Antiaris toxicaria Lesch., Aloe barbadensis Mill., Aquilaria agallocha Roxb., Bougainvillea glabra Choisy, Cassia tora L., Corchorus aestuans L., Haldinia cordifolia Roxb., Lagenaria siceraria (Molina) Standl., Moringa oleifera Lam., Nerium oleander L., Paederia foetida L., Pterocarpus marsupium Roxb., Saussurea lappa L., Vitex negundo L., dan Xylocarpus granatum J. Koenig. Kelima belas tersebut diekstraksi dengan pelarut yang berbeda kemudian diujikan kepada hewan coba. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 15 tanaman tersebut memiliki aktivitas kardiotonik yang baik dengan meningkatkan kontraksi otot jantung sehingga dapat dijadikan pertimbangan dalam pengobatan gagal jantung kongestif.
