Peran Senyawa Flavonoid dan Glikosida Jantung dalam Aktivitas Kardiotonik

Abstrak


Kardiotonik merupakan kemampuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan kontraksi otot jantung, yang mengarah pada peningkatan aliran darah ke seluruh jaringan di tubuh. Aktivitas kardiotonik dapat berasal dari tanaman dengan senyawa metabolit sekunder. Salah satu metabolit sekunder yang terkenal adalah glikosida jantung. Metabolit sekunder ini sejak dahulu dipakai untuk pengobatan gagal jantung dan aritmia jantung. Disamping jenis glikosida, metabolit lain seperti flavonoid juga dapat berperan dalam aktivitas kardiotonik dengan aktivitas antioksidannya. Melalui tinjauan pustaka ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran terkait peran flavonoid dan glikosida jantung dalam aktivitas kardiotonik.
