Stress is feeling depressed about problem being faced. Stress is also known to affect the erythron, endocrine, hematopoietic, and immune variables. Hematopoietic status can be determined by measuring the erythrocyte index value. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of stress levels to the value of MCH, MCV, and MCHC through the conjunctival erythema index approach in normal humans. Subjects in this study included 150 pharmacy students from Universitas Padjadjaran where 114 volunteers with complete research data were used as final subjects. The method in this study uses a Cross Sectional approach. Stress level measurement is performed using a stress questionnaire on the DASS 42 instrument and the application of an image analyzer (MATLAB) is used to measure the erythema index. The stress level is expressed as a value (score) from the filling out of the questionnaire and the erythema index is known as the value of the difference in the intensity of the red and green color in the eye conjunctiva. Pearson Correlation statistical test have showed a P-value> 0.05 (0.847) which indicates that there is no significant relationship between the level of stress with the erythema index. The Pearson correlation value of -0.018 indicates that the correlation between the stress level and the erythema index is negative (protective factor) with a very low level of correlation. With the approach that the erythema index is indirectly proportional to the erythrocyte index value (MCH, MCV, and MCHC), the statistical test results also imply the same conclusion about the relationship of stress levels to the value of MCH, MCV, and MCHC.
