ABSTRACT

The involvement of pharmacists in an interprofessional collaboration is an effort of developing a paradigm of pharmaceutical services that shifts into comprehensive care for patients. Collaboration between health workers in healthcare aims to increase the patient's outcome therapy related to treatment. It can also have an impact on reducing the incidence of medication errors and the cost of care that must be incurred by patients. Pharmacists as health professionals who have knowledge related to treatment must be actively involved in collaborating with health workers. This review article aims to provide an overview of the interprofessional collaboration activities carried out by pharmacists and health workers in providing services to patients as a form of development of Pharmaceutical Care practices.  This review article is expected pharmacists to be more actively involved in interprofessional collaboration by improving self-confidence and having more effective interpersonal communication skills in collaborating with health workers.
