Abstrak

Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) merupakan suatu infeksi yang diperoleh oleh pasien saat berada di lingkungan perawatan medis, seperti rumah sakit dan fasilitas kesehatan lainnya. HAIs dapat terjadi baik secara langsung ataupun tidak melalui prosedur medis atau juga melalui kontak dengan staf medis atau pasien lainnya. Hal ini menyebabkan terjadinya penyebaran bakteri dan virus yang dapat mengakibatkan varian infeksi yang bervariasi, dimana beberapa jenis infeksi dapat sangat berbahaya bagi pasien. Strategi pencegahan HAIs sangat penting untuk dikembangkan dan dilakukan oleh pusat-pusat perawatan medis. Berbagai strategi yang umum dilakukan adalah menjaga kebersihan tangan, lingkungan, pengelompokan pasien, surveilans, penggunaan antibiotik serta mengikuti pedoman. Melalui penerapan strategi pencegahan yang tepat, HAIs dapat ditekan dan dikelola secara efektif sehingga dapat meningkatkan keamanan dan keselamatan pasien.
