Abstract

Liquid waste treatment is very important because it pollutes water bodies. Research has been done to address this problem is the use of media biofilter reactor krekel-fibers, activated charcoal and zeolite-water plants to reduce water pollution. Bean-curd wastewater treatment which designed using the above media may reduce the level of water pollution, the residence time (retention time) 5, 10 and 15 days, wastewater quality parameters measured included: TSS (102.0 mg / L), pH (6.0 mg / L), DO (3.6 mg / L) BOD5 (88.0 mg / L), COD (141.0 mg / L), ammonia (1.4 mg / L),  orthophosphate (1.2 mg / L) and nitrate (17.2 mg / L). These measurements were conducted on effluent 60 liters / day, the results obtained so far below quality standard based effluent
Kep-51/MENLH/10/1995 concening wastewater treatment industry. Based on the effectiveness of the media used with residence times of 10 days in the media is Krekel-roofed; BOD5 (76.0%), COD (67.7%) and ammonia (72.0%). In the media zeolite-activated charcoal which is; BOD5 (73.3%), COD (79.3%) and ammonia (80.9%). While phytoremediation by aquatic plants, the highest in the absorption and reduce pollutants in wastewater know is Phragmites sp, this plant has ability to degrade contaminants effectiveness as follows: TSS (76.70%, 5 days), BOD5 (83.31% , 10 days), COD (44.78%, 5 days) and ammonia (88.45%, 15 days). orthophosphate (70.33%, 10 days), nitrate (68.42%, 15 days).
