Tinjauan Pustaka : Aktivitas Antioksidan In Vitro dari Kulit Buah Manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.)

Antioksidan sebagai suatu zat yang pada konsentrasi rendah dapat menghambat proses stres oksidatif dari suatu subsrat yang dapat menetralkan efek reactive oxygen species (ROS) sehingga dapat mencegah berbagai penyakit. Jumlah antioksidan pada keadaan fisiologis normal seringkali tidak mencukupi untuk dapat menangkal radikal bebas, maka dari itu dibutuhkan tambahan asupan antioksidan. Salah satu sumber antioksidan alami dapat diperoleh dari kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.). Telah banyak penelitian yang menunjukan aktivitas antioksidan dari kulit buah manggis menggunakan berbagai metode, sehingga tujuan dari review ini adalah untuk merangkum informasi dari penelitian-penelitian terkait yang telah dipublikasikan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini yaitu studi tinjauan pustaka (literauture review) dengan mencari kata kunci seperti antioksidan, Garcinia mangostana, metode in vitro dan lain-lain pada sumber basis data yaitu Pubmed, Google Scholar, dan Science Direct. Dari hasil tinjauan pustaka tersebut diperoleh berbagai senyawa bioaktif kulit buah manggis yang dievaluasi melalui berbagai metode pengujian in vitro serta beberapa faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas antioksidan kulit buah manggis.
