The rapid development of digital technology has brought changes and impacts on conflict resolution management. One of its applications is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in conflict resolution, particularly in addressing social conflicts potentially triggered by disinformation on social media. This article aims to explore the role of artificial intelligence in handling social conflicts, specifically disinformation on social media. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing relevant literature. The findings indicate that digital technology, in the form of artificial intelligence, can significantly impact social conflict mediation efforts. AI can be utilized for analyzing social dynamics, identifying potential conflict triggers, facilitating communication and mediation, and assisting in the design of data-driven intervention strategies. However, key challenges in implementing digital technology for social conflict mediation include limited access to technology, potential algorithmic bias in AI, as well as digital literacy and societal resistance to automation in mediation processes. Therefore, the implementation of digital technology in digital conflict mediation efforts must be accompanied by appropriate and measurable digital literacy. Collaboration between the government, academics, and civil society is essential to promote the development of a holistic and sustainable conflict resolution strategy.
