PENGARUH TINGKAT SUBSTITUSI JAGUNG DENGAN UBI JALAR (Ipomoea batatas L.) KUKUS TERHADAP KUALITAS FISIK PELET RANSUM

Abstract


Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh substitusi jagung dengan ubi jalar kukus  terhadap kualitas fisik pelet ransum. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), menggunakan tepung ubi jalar kukus (UJK) selama 15 menit dengan empat perlakuan,  yaitu  persentase substitusi tepung UJK terhadap  tepung jagung (0, 15, 30, 45 persen) dan masing-masing diulang sebanyak 5 kali.  Data hasil dianalisis menggunakan uji ragam (ANOVA), bila terdapat perbedaan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Parameter yang diukur adalah durabilitas, densitas , kerapatan tumpukan, kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan dan sudut tumpukan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa substitusi jagung dengan ubi jalar kukus (UJK) berpengaruh  nyata terhadap semua parameter kualitas fisik pelet ransum, kecuali terhadap sudut tumpukan. Substitusi UJK menurunkan densitas, kerapatan tumpukan dan kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan pelet, namun UJK yang menggantikan jagung dalam ransum broiler sebanyak 45% menghasilkan pelet dengan durabilitas pelet terbaik.
