Hubungan antara Perceived Social Support dengan Loneliness pada Mahasiswa di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

Abstrak


Pandemi Covid-19 yang telah berlangsung sejak tahun 2020 menyebabkan pemerintah menerapkan kebijakan social distancing. Social distancing ini berpengaruh terhadap perubahan sistem pembelajaran mahasiswa menjadi perkuliahan jarak jauh. Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan adanya peningkatan loneliness pada mahasiswa selama pandemi Covid-19 berlangsung. Loneliness dapat berdampak negatif terhadap mahasiswa sehingga diperlukan suatu variabel yang berkorelasi terhadap penurunan tingkat loneliness pada mahasiswa, yaitu perceived social support. Penelitian terdahulu juga menjadi bukti yang menunjukan adanya hubungan antara perceived social support dengan loneliness. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara perceived social support dengan loneliness pada mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran di masa pandemi Covid-19. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif noneksperimental dengan jenis penelitian correlational study. Proses pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Oktober—November 2022 dengan jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 290 mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran angkatan 2019— 2021 yang sedang melaksanakan perkuliahan jarak jauh atau hybrid. Penelitian ini menggunakan stratified random sampling dengan cluster satu tahap sebagai teknik sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara perceived social support dengan tingkat loneliness pada mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran angkatan 2019—2021 (r = -0.597). Hal ini dikarenakan keberadaan perceived social support dapat membuat mahasiswa merasa puas dengan hubungan sosial yang dijalaninya sehingga mahasiswa tidak merasakan loneliness.
