Abstract

The research aims to know the effect of growth regulators to sweet corn production and to know the side effect in decreasing the weed growth. This research was done in March 2003 to October 2003 at green house of Agriculutura Faculty, Padjadjaran University, Subdistrict Jatinangor, Regency Sumedang. The research design used is Completely Randomized Block consisting of seven (7) treatmen and three (3) repetition. Those are Atonik 0,5 ml/3 lt water; Atonik 1,0 ml/3 lt water; Atonik 1,5 ml/3 lt water; Hydrasil 0,1 ml/1 lt water; Hydrasil 0,2 ml/1 lt water; Hydrasil 0,3 waterl/1 lt air; and control (without growth regulators). The Result indicated that the giving of growth regulators isable to improve the growth and the result of sweet corn harvest as the average improvement of sweet corn wet weight. The average corns dry weight, the length of corn cob, and the weight of corn cob. The treatment of Atonik 1,5 ml/3 lt water has the best - side effect in decreasing the
dry-weed weight.
