PENINGKATAN LITERASI POLITIK MELALUI SOSIALISASI “GERAKAN LANSIA CERDAS” DI DESA ADAT RENON

Abstrak

The implementation of general elections requires participation from all citizens which can be done by voting on the ballot during the election. In Indonesia, the issue of anti-participation in the sense of not taking part in elections is referred to as the white group (Golput), namely the group that consciously declares itself not to vote. For various reasons given by the community, socialization needs to be carried out. Through this community service program, the aim is to increase community participation, especially the elderly, in elections. In implementing community service activities for the elderly in the form of a socialization program to increase the role of the community, especially the elderly so that they can participate in the 2024 elections in the Renon Traditional Village, this has been successfully implemented well and smoothly, and received positive responses from the community, Renon Subdistrict and the Chairperson of Renon Traditional Village PPS. The real meaning of this socialization activity is the increasing understanding of the elderly in Renon Traditional Village regarding the importance of increasing community participation in the 2024 elections.

Pelaksanaan pemilihan umum membutuhkan partisipasi dari seluruh warga Negara yang dapat dilakukan dengan mencoblos surat suara pada pelaksanaan pemilu. Di Indonesia persoalan anti partisipasi dalam artian tidak ikut serta dalam pemilu tersebut disebut sebagai Golongan putih (Golput) yaitu golongan yang secara sadar menyatakan dirinya untuk tidak memilih. Dengan berbagai alasan yang diberikan oleh masyarajat maka oleh sebab itu sosialisasi perlu untuk tersu dilakukan. Melalui program Pengabdian Masyarakat ini adalah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat terutama lansia dalam pemilu. Dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada lansia berupa program sosialisasi untuk meningkatkan peran masyarakat terutama pihak lansia agar dapat ikut serta dalam pemilu tahun 2024 di Desa Desa Adat Renon ini telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik dan lancar, serta mendapatkan tanggapan yang positif dari masyarakat, Kelurahan Renon dan Ketua PPS Desa Adat Renon. Makna nyata dari kegiatan sosialisasi ini adalah semakin tumbuhnya pemahaman lansia Desa Adat Renon akan pentingnya peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat pada pemilu 2024.
