Abstrak

The Community Service Program (PPM) aimed to improve the health of pregnant women and babies, enhance readiness for childbirth, and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates through socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, and evaluation. Conducted from September to October 2024 in the working area of the Tanjung Agung OKU Community Health Center (Puskesmas), the program involved 60 at-risk pregnant women (facing malnutrition, hypertension, and helminthiasis). The implementation team included 4 lecturers, 2 students, and Puskesmas staff. Activities comprised Pregnant Women’s Classes (exercise, counseling, nutritious food provision), anthropometric examinations, general health checks, and helminthiasis detection. Results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge (mean score rose from 4.27 to 9.02; p-value = 0.000). Most participants were in their third trimester (83.3%) with normal nutritional status (51.7%). Health examinations revealed normal blood pressure in 60%, hemoglobin levels ≥11 g/dL in 96.7%, and normal blood sugar and uric acid levels in the majority. No helminthiasis cases were detected. The program successfully enhanced health awareness, detected health status, and prepared participants for healthy childbirth. Active participation demonstrated the program’s effectiveness. It is recommended that communities regularly undergo health checks at Posyandu or clinics and adopt healthy lifestyles.
