Mapping the Conditions of Health Management Implementation in Smallholder Farms (Case Study in Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency)

Abstract


Increasing livestock productivity is a key goal for every livestock farmer, as it is related to the costs and income generated from running a livestock business. This increase in livestock productivity can be achieved if farmers make improvements in how they operate their livestock businesses. In addition to improving feed, improving the implementation of livestock health management and disease control within livestock farms is also crucial, including at the smallholder level. Therefore, this activity aims to determine the current state of health management implementation on smallholder farms across various livestock commodities in Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. This activity was conducted using a survey method and provided education to smallholder farmers across various commodities in Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. The results showed that some farmers have implemented health management and disease control in their livestock businesses, and this has impacted the expected production performance of their farms. Farmers welcomed the education provided regarding the implementation of health management and disease control and expect further education on the implementation of health management and disease control
