Abstract

Increased vehicle mobility affects fuel consumption levels, turn leads to high CO2 levels, indicating increase in carbon emissions in the air. In contrast, green spaces that absorb carbon to offset emissions are decreasing and becoming limited due to land clearing or surrounding development. Ekotani Mandala's community service activities for agricultural management with technoecological concept have yard areas that can be used as carbon sinks with active involvement in balancing carbon emissions. Therefore, analysis and socialization are needed to determine the comparison between the amount of carbon emissions from vehicle activities and the amount of carbon absorption in the yard area of Ekotani Mandala. Methods used include field observations, quantitative data collection, and community education on existing vegetation types using a secondary data approach (unit of carbon absorption in plants). Data collection recorded 512.3 kg of CO2/day from vehicles and identified the area of vegetation absorbing 466.55 kg of CO2/day. The objective of the study is to demonstrates the importance of green spaces as CO2 absorbers that balance environmental health and cleanliness, supporting the concept of technoecology as a sustainability measure based on empowerment. The results show that yard vegetation can reduce daily emissions by 91.07% and increase community ecological awareness.
