Analisis Kebijakan Luar Negeri India dalam Act East Policy

Abstrak


Pada tahun 2014, pemerintah India di bawah kekuasaan Narendra Modi memutuskan untuk meluncurkan Act East Policy sebagai salah satu orientasi kebijakan luar negeri utama dari negaranya. Kebijakan ini bertujuan untuk mempererat hubungan bilateral maupun multilateral India dengan negara-negara Asia-Pasifik, baik secara politik, ekonomi, kebudayaan, maupun strategis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis salah satu kebijakan luar negeri India, yakni Act East Policy melalui perspektif Kalevi J. Holsti yang menganalisis kebijakan luar negeri berdasarkan faktor internal maupun eksternal dari suatu negara. Penelitian yang bersifat kualitatif deskriptif ini menggunakan data yang didapatkan dari sumber-sumber primer maupun sekunder yang relevan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa menemukan bahwa alasan pemerintah India meluncurkan Act East Policy adalah bangkitnya kekuatan dominan baru seperti China, strategi “Pivot to Asia” dari Amerika Serikat, serta keinginan pemerintah India untuk mempercepat pembangunan di wilayah timur laut India yang relatif terisolasi.
