Aespa dan Diplomasi Selebriti Korea Selatan: Representasi Cosmopolitan Activism dalam Forum PBB Pasca-Pandemi

Abstrak


Pandemi COVID-19 mempercepat transformasi digital global, melahirkan masyarakat “kronis daring” yang mendorong munculnya praktik diplomasi baru melalui ruang virtual. Studi ini menganalisis keterlibatan grup K-Pop Aespa dalam Forum Politik Tingkat Tinggi PBB (HLPF) 2022 sebagai bentuk diplomasi selebritas dan aktivisme global Korea Selatan di era pascapandemi.  Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini memadukan analisis tematik dan analisis verbatim terhadap pidato Aespa guna mengeksplorasi identitas metaverse, nilai etis global, dan performa diplomatik mereka. Dengan mengutilisasi kerangka Diplomasi Selebritas dari Kogen (2015). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Aespa merepresentasikan bentuk baru komunikasi diplomatik yang simbolik dan digital, dengan memanfaatkan narasi keberlanjutan dan teknologi sebagai jembatan global dengan membawa nilai-nilai universal. Namun, posisi mereka sebagai aktor non-negara dibatasi oleh kerangka komersial dan risiko instrumentalisasi oleh negara atau agensi. Studi ini menyoroti dinamika baru diplomasi selebritas dan pentingnya membaca ulang agensi selebritas dalam arena internasional, di mana nilai moral dan representasi publik menjadi alat utama diplomasi budaya pascapandemi.
