UTILIZATION OF PATCHWORK RECYCLE THROUGH PATCHWORK ART ACTIVITY IN ORDER TO MOTIVATE THE WOMEN COMMUNITY IN SAYANG VILLAGE, JATINANGOR

Abstrak

This community service activity aims to introduce and apply the art of patch work to the women
community in Sayang Village, Jatinangor, Sumedang City. At the same time, this activity can be a media in
giving more motivation to the women in that area in increasing innovation for home industry. It is expected to
provide benefits to the community with the stuff obtained easily and can produce product with economic value,
especially for women who have limited capital and raw materials.The method used is holding the workshop
method, which is by giving introduction and training to make ‘patch work’ by using recycle cloth and some sewing
tools which all done with hand stitching. The participants joined the workshop with high enthusiasm and they
produced souveniers,namely plinths, mobile phone containers, flower brooches, leaf brooches, purses or cosmetics
containers, and tulips flower.
