Abstrak

Contribution of feed on seed mass production to develop fish culture activities. The availability of seeds both in quality and quantity become fish farmers and national problems. Environmental condition and feeds availability are influence the succeed of  seed production. The environment or water condition should be free from pollutant and poison factors, and good  in physically and chemically. Feeds have been a strategic role in biological and economical points. Intensive culture system is one way to reach seeds mass production. In this culture system, artificial feed really needed to be used. Good quality seeds can be got not only based on genetically factor but also depend on the healthy of broodstock and feed which is given to the broodstock. Feed materials which is given to the broodstock will be accumulated in the eggs as energy sources for larvae at the early developing stage. Essential nutriens deficiencies will be caused undeveloped eggs. At the opposite side, good quality feed will produce high survival rate offspring (larvae). Larvae at critical stage, when the yolk sac almost all absorb, are started catch feed from the environment. Larvae should can get feed (both natural and artificial feeds) as soon as possible to reach high survival rates of seeds.
