ABSTRACT

The development of drug formulations and drug delivery systems is very rapid. The current problem faced in drug formulation is low solubility of active pharmaceutical ingridients. This problem occurs in BCS class II drug where the drug has a high permeability but low solubility. Nanoemulsis is dosage form Thar plays an important role in improving lipophilic drug solubility. The purpose of this article review is to describe the concept and techniques of nanoemulsion in an effort to increase the bioavailability of drugs Thar has low solubility in water. The method used is a literature study of nanoemulsion from database, pubmed and medline by entering nanoemulsion and SNEDDS keywords. There are many oral or trandermal drug preparations that have been made in the form of nanoemulsion. The preparation must pass through the characterization and evaluation process before being marketed.

Keywords: nanoemulsion, SNEDDS (Self-nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System), solubility studies, drug release, and stability
