Review Artikel: Aktivitas Antioksidan dari Suku Rutaceae

Abstrak


Antioksidan adalah senyawa yang berguna untuk menghalau terjadinya proses oksidasi karena adanya senyawa radikal yang bersifat reaktif (radikal bebas) yang terbentuk baik secara eksogen (dari luar tubuh) seperti radiasi sinar UV maupun secara endogen (dari dalam tubuh organisme). Senyawa ini berbahaya bagi tubuh karena paparan jangka panjang berpotensi memicu terjadinya kanker. Review artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan informasi tentang tanaman obat dengan aktivitas antioksidan dari Suku Rutaceae berdasarkan data primer dari berbagai artikel ilmiah yang telah dikumpulkan melalu situs pencarian online. Suku Rutaceae adalah salah satu famili tanaman yang paling banyak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan, dengan 154 genus dan sekitar 2100 spesies yang paping banyak ditemukan di negara-negara beriklim tropis dan subtropis. Berdasarkan hasil pencarian dalam beberapa jurnal ilmiah, dari 154 genus tersebut penulis mendapatkan sekitar 38 spesies tanaman Rutaceae yang telah dipublikasikan dalam jurnal ilmiah spesifik mengenai aktivitas antioksidan. Profil informasi yang disajikan mencakup nama ilmiah, bagian tanaman yang digunakan, pelarut yang digunakan, metode uji yang digunakan dan hasil yang berkaitan erat dengan aktivitas antioksidan.
