Isu Global Serius Infeksi Virus Nipah (NiV) Pada Manusia

Abstrak


Penyakit emerging zoonotik salah satunya yaitu penyakit virus Nipah (NiV). Virus Nipah merupakan infeksi yang disebabkan oleh Pteropodidae. Pteropodidae merupakan host alamiah dari penyakit virus Nipah (NiV). Virus Nipah telah menyebar di seluruh dunia, menyebabkan kematian di lima negara: Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, Singapura, dan Filipina, dengan 700 kasus pada manusia dan 407 kematian. Tidak ada laporan kasus di Indonesia, tetapi para peneliti menemukan kelelawar buah (geus Pteropus) yang terdapat di beberapa negara memiliki virus Nipah salah satunya Indonesia. Gejala awal infeksi virus Nipah yaitu sakit kepala, demam, mialgia, sakit tenggorokan, mual, muntah, batuk dan/atau ketidaknyamanan pernafasan. Saat ini, terapi yang digunakan untuk mengobati infeksi virus Nipah didasarkan pada pengobatan umum dan suportif, pengobatan simtomatik, dan menerapkan prosedur untuk mencegah penyebaran penyakit lebih lanjut. Maka dari itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan studi mengenai penyakit virus Nipah untuk membuat orang tahu dan menjadi waspada terhadap virus Nipah yang telah terjadi di beberapa negara, terutama di Asia. Review artikel ini dibuat dengan metode komparatif disusun dari berbagai sumber jurnal penelitian mengenai virus Nipah (NiV). Data yang disajikan dalam tinjauan ini memperlihatkan bahwa sumber informasi yang tersedia mengenai virus Nipah sangat terbatas.
