Author Guidelines

Registration and login are required to submit the article and its completeness online and check its current status.

Articles must be written according to instructions and submitted through our website using the Online Journal System (OJS). The article has not been submitted or considered for publication in another journal. If the article is accepted for publication, the author has agreed to publish the article (including the abstract) exclusively in the Indonesian Journal of Computational Biology (IJCB) in online and print versions. The article is written in English, single column type with Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 spaced, A4 page size.

The article is in the following: Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and Reference. Please note that IJCB requests authors to submit articles in line-numbered MS Word to facilitate the review process.

  1. Title: Article title (maximum of 20 words), written in English. Author name and affiliation, mark with superscript numbering 1,2, etc., of different author affiliations. The corresponding author, marked with the superscript asterisk "*," would be used to mark the corresponding author's email address.

  2. Abstract: The abstract should briefly state the introduction, research purpose, methodology, main result and discussion, and significant conclusions. The abstract should not be more than 250 words. Abstract added with keywords alphabetically ordered.

  3. Introduction: contains background information relevant to the research objectives. Research objectives and hypotheses must be clearly stated.

  1. Materials and Methods: methods must be written in detail so that other researchers can reproduce the results obtained.

  1. Results: The results are briefly explained in paragraphs and presented in an easy-to-understand format using 2D images and tables. Tables should be arranged in order and displayed after the reference section, and no more than 6 (total number of figures and tables). Tables must be created using MS Word (not screenshots). Each table should be given a short title, and explanations and abbreviations should be placed in the table description, not the title. Images must be made in TIFF or JPG format, 300dpi resolution, and Times New Roman 10-12 pt. Image captions are made separately (not attached to the image file).

  1. Discussion: The research article's discussion is based on the results obtained and correlated with other relevant studies. The discussion focused on the main results of the study. The study's limitations and the impact of the research results are described in detail.

  1. Conclusion: the conclusion must be related to the research objectives.

  1. Acknowledgments: Supporting grants, collaboration, or institutions can be placed in this section.

  1. Appendices / Supplementary data: Only the necessary data can be included in the appendices (print version). Supporting data/information for online publication can be submitted in a separate file of the manuscript.

  1. Reference: The author's name is listed for a maximum of 6 people. If the first six people write more than the name, use et al., The article references include more than 80% of primary sources (journal articles), and the article references more than 80% of up-to-date sources(<10 years). The reference style used according to Vancouver. Using the reference manager to organize references such as Zotero, Mendeley or Endnote is highly recommended.

In the Vancouver style references should appear at the end of the text of your essay/paper listed numerically in the order that they were cited in the text.
