Abstract


Pendahuluan: Kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak usia 4-5 tahun penting untuk diperhatikan. Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut dapat menyebabkan rasa sakit dan tidak nyaman sehingga berdampak negatif pada kualitas hidup anak. Kesehatan gigi dan mulut terkait kualitas hidup anak usia 4-5 tahun diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran kesehatan gigi dan mulut terkait kualitas hidup anak usia 4-5 tahun di Desa Cilayung. Metode: Jenis penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah ibu yang mempunyai anak berusia 4-5 tahun yang terdaftar sebagai siswa TK Al-Iffah dan RA Rahayu di desa Cilayung dengan jumlah 50 orang yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS) dan menilai masalah kesehatan gigi selama 3 bulan terakhir. Hasil: Masalah gigi dan mulut selama 3 bulan terakhir paling banyak yang dilaporkan oleh orang tua adalah Early Childhood Caries (ECC). Simpulan: Kesehatan gigi dan mulut cukup berdampak pada kualitas hidup anak usia 4-5 tahun di Desa Cilayung.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The oral health of children aged 4 - 5-years-old is very important issues. Oral health problems can cause pain and discomfort that cause a negative impact on the children’s quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the oral health related to the quality of life of children aged 4 - 5-years-old in Cilayung Village. Methods: This research was a descriptive research. The research sample was mothers with children aged 4 - 5-years-old who were registered as Al-Iffah Kindergarten and Rahayu Islamic Kindergarten students of Cilayung Village, with the total of 50 people, which obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using the Early Childhood Oral Impact Scale (ECOHIS) questionnaire by assessing the children’s oral health problems for the last 3 months. Result: The most frequent oral problems in the last 3 months reported were Early Childhood Caries (ECC). Conclusion: Oral health problems quite affected the quality of life of children aged 4 – 5-years-old in Cilayung Village.
