DARI LERENG KE PELUANG : MEMBANGUN FONDASI PARIWISATA BERKELANJUTAN MELALUI PEMBERDAYAAN KOMUNITAS DI DESA JATIROKE
Abstrak
Community-based tourism development is a key strategy in promoting sustainable development while enhancing the welfare of rural communities. This program analyzes and facilitates the implementation of community-based tourism initiatives in Jatiroke Village, located in Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency, which is currently developing the Teras Gunung Geulis nature tourism area. Despite its unique landscape and cultural potential, the village faces several challenges, such as limited promotion, low human resource capacity, and the absence of an integrated management system. The approach employed is a dual strategy consisting of benchmarking with Nglanggeran Tourism Village, a recipient of the UNWTO Best Tourism Village 2021 award, and needs-based training covering sustainable tourism management, digital marketing, attraction diversification, and tourism literacy enhancement. The program has led to growing enthusiasm, awareness, and participation among local residents in initiating tourism management based on local potential. This collaborative learning process also sparked innovative ideas aligned with Jatiroke’s sociocultural characteristics. The synergy between residents, academics, and village authorities provides a promising foundation for developing a sustainable tourism model. This community service activity contributes conceptually to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in poverty alleviation and the provision of decent work through human empowerment.
