PENERAPAN TEKNOLOGI INCINERATOR SKALA DESA UNTUK MENGURANGI PENUMPUKAN SAMPAH DI TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN SEMENTARA BULAK LOR, KABUPATEN INDRAMAYU

Abstrak


The accumulation of waste and the practice of open burning at the Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) in Bulak Lor Village have become environmental issues that require appropriate technological solutions. The NIRASAP 2026 community service program aimed to reduce waste volume and minimize smoke emissions through the construction of a low-smoke incinerator based on community participation. This activity used a participatory community assistance approach and combined several methods, namely field observation, participatory discussions, technical assistance, and socialization on the use of waste management technology. The results indicate that the incinerator effectively reduced waste accumulation at the TPS and minimized the open burning practices previously carried out by residents. Beyond providing physical infrastructure, the program also enhanced community awareness and participation in environmentally friendly waste management. Therefore, the integration of simple technology with a participatory approach proves effective as a sustainable village-scale waste management model that can potentially be replicated in areas with similar characteristics.


Permasalahan penumpukan sampah dan praktik pembakaran terbuka di Tempat Pembuangan Sementara (TPS) Desa Bulak Lor menjadi isu lingkungan yang memerlukan solusi berbasis teknologi tepat guna. Program pengabdian masyarakat NIRASAP 2026 bertujuan mengurangi volume sampah serta meminimalkan dampak asap melalui pembangunan incinerator minim asap berbasis partisipasi masyarakat. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan pendampingan masyarakat (community assistance) berbasis partisipatif serta memadukan beberapa metode, yaitu observasi lapangan, diskusi partisipatif, pendampingan teknis, serta sosialisasi penggunaan teknologi pengelolaan sampah.  Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa incinerator mampu mengurangi penumpukan sampah di TPS dan menekan praktik pembakaran terbuka yang sebelumnya dilakukan masyarakat. Selain menghasilkan fasilitas fisik, program ini juga meningkatkan pemahaman dan partisipasi warga dalam pengelolaan sampah yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Penerapan teknologi sederhana yang dikombinasikan dengan pendekatan partisipatif ini terbukti efektif sebagai model penanggulangan sampah skala desa yang berkelanjutan dan berpotensi direplikasi pada wilayah dengan karakteristik serupa.
