Jurnal Manajemen Komunikasi was published, on October, 2016, by Communication Science Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran. Jurnal Manajemen Komunikasi published twice a year. In 2016, Jurnal Manajemen Komunikasi began use open journal system (OJS).

Starting Volume 10 Issue 2 2026, Jurnal Manajemen Komunikasi has updated its manuscript format: abstracts are now in English only in font Times New Roman size 12, an 'Implications' section has been added to the abstracts, the date of manuscript genesis is now included, and an Authors' Statement with Acknowledgement, Author contribution, AI declaration, Ethical clearance, Data availability statement, Conflict of interest and Funding has been incorporated.
