Pengaruh minuman kopi dan teh terhadap perubahan warna gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas: studi eksperimental

Abstract


ABSTRAK 

Pendahuluan: Gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas memiliki fungsi estetis yang sangat diperhatikan terutama pada bagian anterior, namun salah satu kekurangan gigi artifisial tersebut adalah perubahan warna yang dapat terjadi seiring berjalannya waktu. Mengonsumsi kopi dan teh telah menjadi kebiasaan bagi penduduk Indonesia, kopi dan teh banyak digemari karena dapat dinikmati kapan saja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas dalam minuman kopi konsentrasi 0,7%, 1,4%, dan teh konsentrasi 0,9% selama 7 hari terhadap perubahan warna. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris dengan 32 sampel gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas insisivus sentralis yang ditanam pada lempengan basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik polimerisasi panas dengan ukuran 20 mm x 20 mm x 6 mm dengan permukaan labial menghadap ke atas dan terbagi menjadi 4 kelompok (perendaman dalam A akuades, B minuman kopi konsentrasi 0,7%, C minuman kopi konsentrasi 1,4%, dan D minuman teh konsentrasi 0,9% selama 7 hari). Data dianalisis dengan uji ANOVA satu arah dan dilanjutkan uji LSD. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara kelompok C dengan kelompok D terhadap perubahan warna gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas (p<0,05) dan tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara kelompok B dengan kelompok C (p>0,05) serta antara kelompok B dengan kelompok D terhadap perubahan warna gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas (p>0,05). Simpulan: Minuman kopi dan teh dapat menyebabkan perubahan warna gigi artifisial resin akrilik polimerisasi panas dengan minuman kopi merupakan minuman yang memiliki pengaruh paling besar, namun nilai perubahan warna yang dihasilkan masih berada dalam rentang nilai perubahan warna yang masih dapat diterima secara klinis

Effect of heat-polymerized acrylic artificial teeth immersion in coffee and tea drinks on color change: experimental study

ABSTRACT 

Introduction: Heat-polymerized acrylic resin artificial teeth have a very important aesthetic function, especially in the anterior teeth, but one of the disadvantaged is color changes that occur gradually over time. Consuming coffee and tea drinks has became a habit for Indonesians, because they can be enjoyed at any time. This study aims to determine the effect of immersion heat-polymerized acrylic resin artificial teeth in 0,7%, 1,4% coffee drinks, and 0,9% tea drinks for 7 days on color changes. Methods: This research is an experimental laboratory. The sample consisted of 32 central incisor heat-polymerized acrylic resin artificial teeth placed in a 20 mm x 20 mm x 6 mm cylinder heat-polymerized acrylic resin denture base with the labial surface facing up and divided into 4 groups (immersion in A distilled water, B 0,7% coffee drinks, C 1,4% coffee drinks, and D 0,9% tea drinks for 7 days). Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and continued with the LSD test. Results: There is a significant difference between heat-polymerized acrylic resin artificial teeth immersion in group C and group D on the color change (p<0.05) and there is no significant difference between heat-polymerized acrylic resin artificial teeth immersion in group B and group C (p>0.05) and also between group B and group D on the color change (p>0.05). Conclusion: Coffee and tea drinks can cause color change in heat-polymerized acrylic artificial teeth, which coffee drinks have the greatest effect in color change, however the range of color change value is still acceptable clinically.
