Abstrak

Desa Patrolsari at Kecamatan Arjasari has a high potency in agriculture. Most of the land is cultivated for agriculture sector. The objective of this PKM Program was to share knowledge, perception, and understanding of environmentally friendly chili plant cultivation free from anthracnose to the housewives joined in PKK Program. The PKM Program included location survey, interview, socialization of PKM Program, training of students involved in the program, counseling, and putting up a low scale participative demonstration plot of chili cultivation in polybags. After the survey and interview with the Head of the Village, aparatur of the village, and the PKK housewives, it was found out that chili was one of the main crops cultivated in Desa Patrolsari. However, most of the farmers do not have the knowledge about the environmentally friendly control methods of anthracnose and other pests on chili plant. The farmers usually use synthetic pesticides to control the pests. They also do not have the ability to differentiate pest from disease. The counselling program was focused on introduction of chili pests and diseases, anthracnose disease of chili, environmentally friendly control of anthracnose and other pests. By joining this counselling, the farmers in Desa Patrolsari, especially the PKK housewives, will gain more knowledge, perception, and understanding about plant pests and diseases, especially chili plant and anthracnose. By putting up a participative demonstration plot, the PKK housewives can also practice the environmentally friendly chili cultivation free from anthracnose.
