DEFINISI KEKERASAN TERHADAP ISTRI DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL
Abstrak
Studi ini ini mendeskripsikan dan menguji faktor-fakrot yang berasosiasi dengan sikap mahasiswa sarjana program studi kesejahteraan sosial mengenai definisi tindak kekerasan terhadap istri berdasarkan perspektif sosial demografis dan sosial budaya. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara non-random menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui survey terhadap 294 mahasiswa kesejahteraan sosial dari 2 (dua) universitas di provinsi DI Yogyakarta dan Jawa Barat yang dilaksanakan pada akhir tahun 2016. Analisa data dilakukan dengan teknik simple regression. Studi menemukan bahwa para mahasiswa umumnya melaporkan persetujuan yang lebih besar untuk mengkategorikan kekerasan fisik sebagai bentuk kekerasan terhadap istri. Sebaliknya, mereka cenderung kurang memandang kekerasan non-fisik sebagai perilaku kekerasan. Gender, sikap terhadap peran jender, dan tipe universitas merupakan faktor signifikan yang berasosiasi dengan sikap terhadap tindak kekerasan terhadap istri. Implikasi dari temuan temuan studi ini didiskusikan dengan mengaitkan peran lembaga pendidikan dalam mempengaruhi sikap mahasiswa.
