JWP (Jurnal Wacana Politik)

Previously, Jurnal Wacana Politik (JWP) published two issues annually, with all submitted manuscripts subjected to a rigorous peer-review process. The journal addresses a broad range of empirical issues in political studies, including regional politics and public policy, the relationship between religion and democracy, political campaigns and elections, political economy, electoral systems and political parties, as well as power relations, security studies and political communication. In line with its commitment to enhancing publication quality, editorial governance, and international visibility, JWP has officially migrated its journal management and publishing platform from Open Journal Systems (OJS) to Digital Commons (Elsevier) as of January 2026. This strategic transition aims to strengthen editorial and peer-review workflows, improve the efficiency and transparency of manuscript handling, expand global accessibility and discoverability, and align the journal’s publishing practices with internationally recognized scholarly standards. JWP welcomes contributions from academics, students, government officials, and practitioners from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the form of original research articles and literature reviews. All submissions must adhere to established principles of academic integrity and ethical scholarly writing. Since 2024, JWP has increased its publication frequency to three issues per year, published in January, May, and September.

Since it was published by Universitas Padjadjaran, which is technically managed by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, in October 2016, JWP (Jurnal Wacana Politik) is committed to publishing research results, both empirical and theoretical studies that raise political issues, especially in Indonesia. The publications displayed in the JWP (Jurnal Wacana Politik) are expected to enrich the scientific treasures of political science and impact the understanding of political and democratic development, especially in Indonesia.
