Abstrak

A continued research of antifeedant activity of andrographolide have been done to understand it action mode to ganglion tissues of Plutella xylostella that is wellknown as the cabbage worm. Worms that allowed from moth rearing choosen the instar-4 stage of larva, then treated for 24 hours by given the feed that deeped in andrographolide solution with the concentrations of 1000, 1600, 2500, 4000, and 6500 ppm. The control larva feed which deeped in methanol as andrographolide solvent.  After treatment, the worm was fixated to make slices accoding to parafin method and the Mallory-Azan staining. The result of this research showed that andrographolide caused the pathological structure of nerve ganglion that cells enlargement formed or hypertrophy and the evidence occured increasingly according to the increasing of andrographolide concentration.
