Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines – Informatio

1. The article made is the original work of the author and his team (if there is more than one author)

2. Articles submitted are research results that have never been and are not being published in other journals or publishers.

3. The articles made must be free from plagiarism, including self-plagiarism (articles have been independently reviewed using an anti-plagiarism application). Check the similarity of a maximum of 20% without being filtered.

4. The articles made must contain research with the theme of documents, documentation, information science, or knowledge management at GLAM information institutions (Gallery, Library, Museum, Archive). More complete information can be seen in the Focus and Scope of the Informatio Journal.

5. Articles are written in English, consisting of 5000-7000 words, with 12pt Georgia letters, 1.15 spacing, A4 paper size (21cm x 29.7cm) using 2.5 cm for inside margin and 2 cm for the top, bottom, and outside margin.

6. The title of the article must be typed in a sentence case except for conjunctions, and if there are subheads, it must be separated by a colon, using Georgia 14, bold, 1 space, and Remove Space After Paragraph.

7. The names of the authors are written completely without abbreviations and titles, with 12pt Georgia letters, Capitalize Each Word, bold, Center, and with 1 space.

8. The affiliation of each author is written in Georgia 10pt., Capitalize Each Word, Center, and Remove Space After Paragraph. Example of the Library and Information Science Study Program, Padjadjaran University.

9. The email address listed is only the email address of the first author in 12pt Georgia letters. and center.

10. Abstract written in English containing background, objectives, research methods, and conclusions, totaling 200-250 words, in Georgia 10pt., spaced 1, without bullets and numbering.

11. Keywords consist of 3-5 words or phrases separated by semicolons.

12. Manuscripts contains of 5000-7000 words.

13. Not allowed to use footnotes.

14. Quotations that exceed 3 (three) lines must be written using direct quotations (space 1 with an increased indent).

15. Each paragraph must use tab / 7 beats, 1.15 spacing, justify, with 12pt Georgia font.

16. Manuscripts must contain INTRODUCTION, RESEARCH METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, and REFERENCES. 

17. INTRODUCTION must contain: 

a. Background problems in the field

b. The importance of the problem or why it should be investigated

c. Novelty (haven't been researched by others). If a similar theme has been studied before, then quote the previous research. Explain the differences with your research.

d. The background of the problem must include supporting data, for example from pre-research observations, documentation studies from the research location, or previous research literature studies from that location.

e. Basic theory/concept must be relevant.

18. RESEARCH METHODS must contain:

a. the type of research and the approach chosen (must include citations from books or research methods journals)

b. time and location of the study. If you study literature, it is not necessary to include the research location

c. sample or informant (including the method of determination)

d. research instruments e. method of collecting, analyzing, and presenting data

19. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

a. The results obtained from the research must be supported by sufficient data.

b. If the research results are made in tables or figures or flow charts, include the source at the bottom left of the table, figure, or flow chart. The title of the table must be listed above the table, centered, with Georgia 10pt., and bold. The name of the image, diagram, or flow chart, must be listed below the image, center, in Georgia 10pt., and bold. Tables, figures, or flow charts must be accompanied by explanations (not rewriting the contents of tables, figures, or flow charts).

c. The results of the analysis are quoted from the results of other studies, theories from experts, or reinforcements from other sources.

20. CONCLUSION

a. Must include answers to research questions and research objectives in narrative writing concisely and clearly. At the end of the conclusion, the author may include limitation of the research and recommendations for future research based on the findings.

b. Conclusions are written in one or two paragraphs but are not allowed in the form of bullets and numbering. 

21. REFERENCES

a. Using the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th Edition or later edition if available.

b. Bibliography of at least 15 sources, with 80% primary sources (journals and/or proceedings) and 30% other sources (books, official websites, printed or online newspapers, non-scientific articles published by an institution).

c. The sources used are published in the last 10 years. If you must use citations outside the most recent 10 years, make sure the source has indeed been frequently cited by other researchers (it has been cited at least 25 times). Authors are also required to cite at least two articles from the Jurnal Informatio.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Articles submitted are research results that have never been and are not being published in other journals or publishers.
  2. The submission file is in document file format (.doc). Using reference manager, written in English, consist of 5000-7000 words with 12pt Georgia font. Bibliography of at least 15 sources, with 70% primary sources (journals and/or proceedings) and 30% other sources

  3. Conclusion written in one or two paragraphs consist of the answers to research questions and research objectives in narrative writing concisely and clearly. At the end of the conclusion, the author may include limitation of the research and recommendations for future research based on the findings.
  4. The author is willing to pay the cost of publishing the article in Jurnal Kajian Informasi & Perpustakaan after the article has finished the process (Rp500.000,00.).
