Pengaruh Lama Masa Kering terhadap Produksi Susu pada Sapi Perah yang Berproduksi Tinggi di PT. Ultra Peternakan Bandung Selatan

Abstract


Masa kering merupakan rentang waktu sapi tidak diperah di antara dua masa laktasi. Walaupun demikian, masa kering diperlukan untuk mempersiapkan performa produksi susu yang optimal pada masa laktasi berikutnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa produksi susu serta mengetahui pengaruh masa kering terhadap produksi susu pada sapi perah yang berproduksi tinggi (>7.000 kg/laktasi). Penelitian telah  dilaksanakan pada 21 Juni – 28 Juni 2023 di PT. Ultra Peternakan Bandung Selatan (UPBS). Penelitian dilakukan pada 116 ekor sapi berproduksi tinggi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pengujian deskriptif dan uji anova. Rataan produksi susu terkoreksi pada kategori lama masa kering <40 hari, 40-60 hari, dan >60 hari secara berturut-turut adalah 8.974,53±834,65 kg/laktasi, 9.616,96±1.024,16 kg/laktasi, dan 9.047,87±875,08 kg/laktasi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan produksi susu antar lama masa kering berbeda secara signifikan. Sapi dengan lama masa kering <40 hari dan >60 hari mengalami penurunan produksi susu terkoreksi berturut-turut sebesar 6,68% dan 5,92% dibandingkan produksi susu terkoreksi dengan lama masa kering 40-60 hari. Lama masa kering 40-60 hari menampilkan produksi susu terbaik.
