Milk Production Performance, Income Over Feed Cost Before and During FMD Outbreak at KUNAK KPS Dairy Farmers Bogor

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the performance and comparison of milk production, fat content, protein content and income over feed cost before and during FMD outbreak in KUNAK KPS Bogor. This research was conducted in January 2024 in the Farm Business Area (Kunak) which is part of the membership of the Bogor Dairy Production Cooperative (KPS). The number of respondents sampled in this study were 46 farmers. The research method used was a survey method using primary and secondary data in the form of milk production data, milk quality, namely fat content and protein content, and income over feed cost. Data used in April 2022 and January 2024. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 25.0 software with normality test and paired sample t-test to determine the difference between before and during FMD outbreak. Based on the results of the study, there was a decrease in average milk production performance before FMD, which was 390.93 tons / month and during FMD to 123.79 tons / month or a decrease of 68.33%, the calculation of income over feed cost on average per month before FMD was Rp 20,916,491 and during FMD to Rp 959,396 or a decrease of 95.41%. The results of the comparison of milk production performance and income over feed cost stated significantly different (t<0.05). It can be concluded that FMD outbreak affects the performance of milk production and income over feed cost.
