Biogas Co-Digestion Production from Cow Manure, Fruit Vegetable Waste, and Leaf Litter at Universitas Padjadjaran
Abstrak
Biogas is a solution to the current problems of the energy crisis and organic waste. Some organic waste has the potential to be converted into energy in the form of biogas, namely cow dung, fruit vegetable waste, leaf litter, molasses and bioslurry. The aim of this research is to determine the results of anaerobic co-digestion biogas production from cow dung, fruit vegetable waste, obtained from waste at Padjadjaran University and its characteristics. The method used is descriptive data processing by mixing all the ingredients into a biodigester (anaerobic co-digestion) with a C/N ratio of 26). The research results show that biogas production always includes additional biogas every day with a total final biogas volume of 6,261 ml and average daily biogas production of 209 ml. Then the highest volume of biogas production was in the 1st 10 days, namely 2,929 ml and the lowest was in the 3rd 10 days, namely 1,493 ml. Meanwhile on the second 10 days it was 1,839 ml. Then in terms of temperature, environmental temperature does not have much influence on biogas production and the difference between morning and afternoon temperatures has little effect on biogas production. For the biogas composition, the methane content obtained was 79% lel. Finally, for the flame, biogas has produced an ideal flame since the 7th day, both in terms of positive flame and flame duration. Recommendations for further research are to test the characteristics of the substrate and inoculum, carry out periodic composition tests from the start of the research and use a gas chromatography tool and produce biogas by mono-digestion on a substrate of cow dung, fruit vegetable waste and leaf litter as well as molasses and bioslurry inoculum so that it can compared to biogas production by co-digestion.
